Macaque Enclosure Build

We need your help to build our next enclosure...

Japanese macaque Macaca fuscata

Japanese macaques are the most northerly-living non-human primates. In the forested and mountainous, region of Japan where they're found, some populations have been known to bathe in hot springs during the freezing winters and swim during the sweltering summer heat. Japanese macaques have become famous for washing their food in saltwater before they eat it, both cleaning it and enhancing the taste. This skill has spread through the population and down the generations. For fun these macaques make snowballs, just like us.

What we would like to do...

Dartmoor Zoo would love to build a fantastic home for these amazing monkeys at the zoo. But we need your help! The approximate cost of building this enclosure is around £10000. This will provide them with a good sized, large enclosure with all of the facilities to make sure they have a happy and fulfilled life.

How you can help...

We are hoping to raise the amount necessary to build the enclosure from a handful of exclusive donations. These donations are broken down into three categories, Bronze, Silver and Gold. There are 8 Bronze categories available, 4 Silver and only 1 Gold. In exchange, you will have your name on a permanent plaque on the outside of the enclosure for all to see, and a lifetime of free entrance to the zoo to see the enclosure you helped to build. You will also receive a guided tour of the zoo from the author of 'We Bought A Zoo', Benjamin Mee.

No other categories will be sold for this enclosure and as a sponsor, you will have complete exclusivity. If you are a company and wish to buy a category on behalf of that company, you will also receive the full benefits of our corporate sponsorship scheme, with all of the exposure that the zoo receives for your brand.
