Formerly known as Dartmoor Wildlife Park, the zoo was purchased by the Mee family and, following major refurbishment work, reopened in July 2007. The story of those early days were captured in the memoirs of Benjamin Mee. He then compiled those memoirs into a book called 'We Bought A Zoo'. This book has now been made into a Hollywood movie of the same name, starring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson and many others.

The animals here include tigers, lions, jaguar, lynx and cheetah, bears, wolves, tapir, capybara, racoons, meerkats, monkeys, deer, owls, ostrich, lechwe, a fantastic collection of bugs and reptiles and much, much more.

This gift includes a copy of the book, 'We Bought A Zoo' signed by author and director of Dartmoor Zoological Park, Benjamin Mee. It also includes a family ticket to Dartmoor Zoo, that admits two adults and two children. The ticket can be used once and is valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Terms and Conditions:

Family ticket is valid for 12 months from time of purchase. Delivery can take up to 14 days. Books are signed with "Benjamin Mee" in biro ink on the first paper page in the book. Personalised messages are not possible, however when you visit with your ticket, please bring your book and if Benjamin is available when you visit, he will be happy to add to your message.
