This is a hard work, hands on, all day experience. You'll be working with our expert zoo keeping team here at Dartmoor Zoo caring for our many species. You'll learn about the fine balance of the feeding routine and training that is so important to keeping our animals healthy and happy. Not for the faint hearted, it is an amazing experience that will live with you forever.

You can enjoy this experience all year round, any day of the week with the exception of the Christmas holidays. Demand is high and places are strictly limited, so you're advised to book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Please be advised that this experience does not include any involvement in our big cat or carnivore section. What happens on the day?

While every day is different here at Dartmoor Zoo, depending on what is happening, a typical Keeper For A Day might be like this (please note the differences between Adult and Junior Keeper experiences):

* Please note,that these experiences are for Adult Keepers only. Junior Keeper experiences will end at around 3pm. The adult programme applies to people aged 16 and over.

For 2-for-1 offers, both people must enjoy the experience at the same time. To claim the offer, you must add an additional person to your purchase by using the box above. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, but that parent or guardian is not chargeable. Only one non-paying parent or guardian per child group is permitted. Any additional adults are chargeable at £99.The minimum age of persons allowed for this experience is 8 years of age and it is not recommended for anyone who is pregnant, has a high blood pressure, or is of a nervous disposition. You will be allowed to take photographs, but only at the discretion of the zoo staff. During the experience, instructions by zoo staff must be followed at all times and participation is allowed only on your acceptance of the strict health and safety requirements which you'll be required to sign on the day. Please note that this experience is subject to availability, conditions and animal welfare considerations. In the unlikely event that the experience cannot be conducted, reimbursement is limited to the refund of the experience fee alone.
